Our Academy ~ Cville BJJ
Charlottesville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers a friendly and relaxed no-ego environment in which to train martial arts and combat sports. The top notch facility, the detailed instruction, the effective training and great class atmosphere is why most people sign-up as well as continue to train at our school. The camaraderie has grown into a great family, all helping each other make progress in martial arts as well as in life. Most of our students consider Charlottesville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu their second home.
We specialize in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which is the best grappling art in the world, and added Muay Thai, which is the best striking art in the world, in efforts to give students the ability to round their skills out between grappling and striking. To have a program completely devoted to self-defense we developed Krav Maga classes, which is a military self-defense system developed in Israel. The 3 styles of combat all compliment each other in their respective fields.
We believe practicing a martial art is a way of bettering one’s life, mentally and physically. Enhancing and unifying mind, body and spirit. We provide the necessary ingredients to grow and develop effective jiu-jitsu, muay thai and krav maga.
We have a large number of Albemarle county and Charlottesville city police who regularly train jiu-jitsu with us to develop good control when arresting crooks.
We have also conducted many woman’s self-defense seminars teaching how to use Krav Maga and jiu-jitsu in a close encounter to protect yourself and survive an assault.
Our school has won C-Ville Weeklys “Best Martial Arts school” category in 2015 and 2016.
We have classes Monday through Saturday for everyone. Click here for weekly schedule.
