Gordon Emery

Gordon was introduced to martial arts in 2002 through a Kung Fu style known as Wing Chun. In 2004, he discovered the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and began an intense study. He began training with Andrew Smith and the BJJ Revolution Team in 2006, and has been teaching throughout the Charlottesville/Albemarle area since.

In 2007, he opened Charlottesville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  In 2008, he moved the school to a new location on Concord Avenue, allowing a six-day training week and offering a comprehensive Muay Thai program.

Gordon is also trained in Judo and Muay Thai and certified as a US Grappling Referee as well as maintaining First Aid and CPR certifications.

Gordon teaches beginner and advanced Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai classes at CVille BJJ.  He travels regularly for training and competition and is constantly looking for details to bring back and share in his classes.

Jun Ortega

Jun began training in the martial arts with Kali Silat and Jeet Kune Do. In 1997, he moved to VirgJun Ortegainia Beach and started studying Muay Thai. In 2000, he started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 2003, Jun received an Associate Instructorship from the Thai Boxing Association. Since then he has been teaching both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu around the Virginia area. Jun has been teaching along side of Gordon since 2006 and is the main Muay Thai Instructor here at Cville BJJ.

Jun offers a blend of knowledge from a diverse martial arts background and teaches both beginner and advanced Muay Thai classes.
