Class Descriptions
- Gi Basics / No-Gi Basics – Covers the fundamental techniques and strategy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Perfect for those new to the sport, or those looking to touch up their basic techniques. All students are encouraged to attend. If you are new to Martial arts or Grappling you are required to attend these classes for at least a month before admitted to the regular Gi and No-Gi classes.
- Gi Class – (pronounced “G-ee”) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class that involves grappling with a heavy jacket and pants. These classes are not for beginners. Perfect for those who are interested in pursuing sport Jiu-Jitsu.
- No-Gi Class – (pronounced “Noh-G-ee”) Sometimes called submission wrestling, involves Jiu-Jitsu style grappling with just shorts and t-shirt. These classes are not for beginners. Perfect for those who are interested in pursuing sport Jiu-Jitsu.
- Muay Thai - (pronounced “Moy Tie”) Stand up striking that covers fundamental techniques of Muay Thai (kicks, punches, knees, elbows, clinch work)
- Open Mat – All Cville BJJ students are welcome and encouraged to attend. No formal warm-up or instruction, this is a great way to get some extra time training with other students.
- Conditioning – All Cville BJJ students are welcome and encouraged to attend. This class will be held from 11am – 12pm on Saturday’s. The focus will be on improving balance, strength, agility and lots more…
- MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) - The focus will be on combining striking and grappling within the rules of a Mixed Martial Arts contest. This class in not for beginners. You must get the instructors permission to attend.
