Class Descriptions

  • Level 1 Gi Jiu-Jitsu ~ Basic techniques and strategy. This class is open to all. This Level is to teach the concepts, major positions, escapes, and ground fighting techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A Gi is required to attend. Once you complete 6 months of consistent training in this class you will be eligible for the Level 2.
  • Tech Drilling ~ Technical Drilling: A Level 2 class for students wanting to develop a technique of their choice. Drilling is an effective method to engrain movement patterns. Participants need to bring a technique to drill for 30 minutes.
  • No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu ~ also called Submission Grappling and is BJJ done without the Gi (Sem Kimono).
  • Muay Thai ~ This class is based on an Indochinese kickboxing style from Thailand. The instruction covers stand up striking with the fists, elbows, knees and shins as well as clinching techniques. Open to everyone beginner to expert. Mouth guard and groin protection are required. If you will be a regular student we ask that you purchase your own 14-16 oz. boxing/Thai gloves and professional shin guards.
  • Muay Thai Open Mat ~ Not offered as a free trial class. This time is offered at the end of our Muay Thai classes for hitting the thai bags, pad rounds or light contact sparring. 16oz. boxing gloves, professional shin guards, mouthpiece and groin protection and permission from an instructor are required to spar.
  • Marathon Roll ~ An intense rolling session of non-stop rolling for 1 hour with some awesome tunes to get the engine running. Not a regular open mat and not for beginners.
  • All Levels Open Mat ~ Not offered as a free trial class but open to all members and visitors. No formal warm-up or instruction is given. The round timer is set and runs continuously while students roll. Rolling is how you will learn the Jiu-Jitsu “game”. It is how you develop a better understanding of technique, tactics, timing and strategy. Students roll in the Gi as well as No-Gi. This time can also be used by our Muay Thai or Krav Maga students to hit the heavy bag or spar as well.
  • Krav Maga ~ A no nonsense approach to personal safety. This class is solely focused on street wise self-defense to violent attacks. Students develop a fighters ability to defend themselves from all kinds of strikes, holds, and weapon defenses. This program is great for beginners.
  • Kids BJJ ~ This class is for children ages 5-8. Through drills, games and other engaging activities we guide kids along to increase capabilities for Jiu-Jitsu. With some light grappling play closely supervised by qualified coaches. We do not teach submissions to the kids at this level. Students wear a school shirt and shorts for this class.
  • Jiu-Jitsu Juniors ~ This class is for kids ages 9 – 14. This class is for the older kids mature enough to learn more of the combative techniques not allowed in the kids class. Grappling games are closely supervised by qualified coaches. Students wear a Gi in this class, which is a traditional kimono uniform with a belt of rank around the waist.
